NEWSPAPER HISTORY
The Nowata Star was
founded over 100 years ago.
In 1903, the Nowata Star
began and still remains the county’s only weekly newspaper.
This community-oriented
newspaper, with a readership of over 7,200, has dedicated its efforts to
serving the people of Nowata and Nowata County.
Today, the Nowata Star is
under the general management and part ownership of John and Janet Link, and
is part of the Reid Family Publications, which includes the Weatherford
Daily News, Vinita Daily Journal, Perry Daily Journal, The Grand Laker,
Tri-County Journal and The American newspapers.
